bq24250 Questions.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ24250, BQ24251

Dear Sir,

Please help check what are purposes of B4 and B3 in Register #7?

For B4, customer use BQ24250 and it has EN1 and EN2; not D+/D-, what should they do with this bit for BQ24250 EN1 and EN2?

They will set B2=0: PTM mode is disabled.

Thanks, Ian.

  • Hey Ian,

B4 in register #7 has no function in the bq24250. That is reserved for the bq24251. It has no effect on EN1 or EN2.

B3 is meant to run battery detection if your battery is not being recognized as present by the charger. This will check if the battery has terminated charge due to reaching the Battery Regulation setpoint voltage. On the other hand, it will run a loop until a battery is detected based on Figure 20. AnyBoot Battery Detection Flow Diagram of the datasheet. The device will run detection on its own when a battery is disconnected, so this is meant only to force the detection.
