We're seeing considerable noise on the output of this regulator on a bring up board during some serial traffic. But we are using the cheapest passive probes that came with the TEK scope, including the 2" GND lead + alligator clip. shown here: http://www.csus.edu/indiv/t/tatror/eee_117_lab/3017_test_equipment/tektronix%20p6139a%20probe.pdf.

  • I use tip and barrel method or a short (< 1cm) pigtail wrapped around the barrel for GND. Most probe packages come with this accessory or you can make one out of some thin bus wire. Probe directly across the output capacitors (if that is where you are concerned, or any other point and the shortest possible path to GND
