TPS62361B: TPS62361 I2C Bus Capacitance

Part Number: TPS62361B

Hello,

What's the capacitance at the input of the TPS62361 I2C pins (both SDA and SCL)?

Don

  • This is not specified but we can accept up to 400 pF external, per page 7 of the D/S. This should be quite a lot.
  • Yes, I understand that this isn't specified, which is why I asked the question. To add additional perspective; consider an I2C bus; which typically includes a single I2C master and multiple slaves on the system. The TPS62361 would be one of these slave devices. To ensure rise/fall times, the bus capacitance of each device needs to be summed; and that sum needs to be less than 400pF per the I2C specification.

Knowledge of the TPS62361 bus capacitance (at both the SDA and SCL pins) is required in order to achieve an accurate sum. Can you provide that figure?

    Don
  • We don't have a number ready here. This IC has been used at many customers over the years and this has never come up. Is the I2C bus already heavily loaded, where there is not much margin left for the small amount of parasitic in this IC?

Please post any proprietary customer details in the thread tracking section to explain more.
