UCC28911: UCC28911 non-isolated design

Part Number: UCC28911
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP10767, UCC28910, PMP9176

Dear all.

Our customer need ACDC design about AC100V to DC5V-100mA(load=motor).
I found PMP10767.
Please teach me a change point and calculation formula in this design.

Regards,
PAN-M

  • Pan,

PMP9176 is probably a slightly better design to use - it's designed for 9 V @ 120 mA, and it uses UCC28910 (lower cost).

For universal AC input (90-264 V ac), the biggest challenge for 5 V output will be the small duty cycle at high line.

However, your spec is only 100 V ac, is your application low-line only? In that case, PMP9176 should work ok for you.

    To get ~5 V output, change R4 to 86.6 k initially.

I will check with the designer of PMP9176 to see if any other changes are required or recommended.

    Thanks,
    Bernard
