TPS562200: TPS562200 output ripple specification

Part Number: TPS562200

Hi Sir,

I have check the TPS562200 datasheet but there have no output ripple specification, Figure 27,28,29 seems it based on EVM condition VIN = 12 V and an output voltage of 1.05 V, for other voltage level have any criteria can judgement ripple is in specification? If Vin =12V, Vout = 3.3V?

Thanks!

Jeff

  • Hi Jeff,

562200 is a D-CAP2 mode part, supports all ceramic output cap(lower ESR), so the Vout ripple is always smaller. of course, the ripple also depends on the LC filter design(TI provide recommend value table, page16 in DS).
For 3.3Vout, I think it can meet most application system spec. either, except yours is very special.

  • Hi Yuchang,

I got it. I will try to follow P16 design for Vout=3.3V to get better Vout ripple.
But for 3.3Vout, could you please comment vout ripple should be lower than maybe 20mV? 50mV?80mV? is normally?

    Thanks!
    Jeff
  • Hi Jeff,

Draft estimate, if same LC with 1.05V EVM, 3.3Vout inductor choke ripple current will be about double as 1.05V, so the ripple should be also double.
and if 3.3V L value double to 4.7uh or 3.3uh + 3*22uf, the ripple maybe almost same as 1.05V.
I think also you can evaluate with TI Webench tool.
