LM5170-Q1: LM5170-Q1 run with single LiIon Cell

Part Number: LM5170-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5170

Is it possiblke to run a 48V DC elcetronic out of a single LiIon Cell (2.7 to 4V) using the bidirectional DC/DC converter LM5170 (charge and supply) ?

  • Hello,

If you look at the LM5170 the minimum voltage it is 4V which means that for the battery voltages that you have listed the LM5170 would be in undervoltage.

There will be some challenges to the large difference between 2.7V - 4.0V to 48V and back.

What sort of power level are you hoping to have this solution work at? DO you have wattages and input and output currents?

With this information we may be able to find a way to make this happen.
