UCC28950: Stopping to enter a burst mode operation is possible?

Part Number: UCC28950

Hi team,

When output is shorted, customer power circuit enters into the burst mode.

Is this normal operation?

Customer wants to stop entering into a burst mode even when output is shorted.

Is it possible that UCC28950 be stopped to enter bust mode operation when output is shorted?

  • Yoshwa,
Thank you for the interest here please excuse the delay with the US holiday.
Yes that is normal operation. Yes it can be changed by adding a pull-up resistor between SS and VREF so it will now operate in latch off mode and not hiccup mode. Please see page 30 of the datasheet for further details.
    Regards
