Does anyone have a good application note for designing a in-rush current limit circuit. This will be between a charger (400VDC constant current charger ~35A) and a string of lead acid batteries (32 batteries). A battery manufacturer needs help, when they turn on this very old charger, it has hundreds of amps of inrush for approximately 5ms. I'm thinking of using a power N-channel Mosfet on the neg leg of the charger to turn on slow. I'm worried about stability and exceeding the power rating of the mosfet when it is turning on. Any help will be much appreciated.
