BQ24172: Question on BQ24172

Part Number: BQ24172

Hi, my name is Sang-Rae Lee.

We have designed our schematic with BQ24172.

There are some questions about fast charge current set value and charge termination related to TTC pin.

[Question 1]

The adapter or USB cable can be used to charge the battery of our device.

In general, there is current capacity difference between adapter and USB cable.

The standard charging current of our battery is 600mA.

We have known that the voltage/current specifications of normal USB power are 5V/500mA.

If we set the charge current of charging IC to 600mA and use the USB power which is capable to deliver 5V/500mA, then are there any expected problems?

[Question 2]

We connect TTC pin of BQ24172 to ground.(0 volt).

The pin function description in your datasheet is commented  as "disable the charge termination".

To complete the charge termination under below 40mV of ISET pin voltage  after constant voltage charging, must we connect TTC pin to HIGH?

If the TTC pin is connected to LOW as our case, how to terminate the charging IC?

We will wait for your answer as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Good Bye.

Best Regards.
