BQ76PL536A-Q1: Cell Monitoring Problem in high temperature

Part Number: BQ76PL536A-Q1

I have used BQ76PL536A-Q1 IC for monitoring two sets of 6 cell batteries. In one of the systems, the cell number 4 was gradually discharged by BQ76PL536A-Q1 and the cell voltage reach to 0.6v and cell number 4 break down.

In the second IC, after a one day of work in 45 degree  temperature, the voltage of first cell was displayed as 1.5 V while that of the fourth cell was 5V. However when measuring with a multimeter, both cells voltage were equal to 3.3V. why?

  • Leakage of PL536A is pretty low and it's very unusual.

Let me respond with 2nd question.

    1. Have you measured the voltage on device side as well?

    2. Have you check and make sure wire is connected properly?

Can you make sure nothing is shorted on cell4?

Is there way for me to review your schematic real quick?

I understand you don’t want to share it in public.

Leakage of device is pretty low and we test leakage of each pin in the factory.

Have you try with known good battery?

Again, it would be great if I can have a quick review on your schematic.

    Thanks
