Hello,
We are designing an 8~20V to 5V, 5A buck using the TPS40170 (fsw=300kHz). We need this supply to have a fixed frequency, no matter the load. This is because we will filter this supply to power an analog circuit, and if the TPS40170 enters pulse-skipping or reduces frequency at light loads, then our filter won't be effective.
Can you confirm that the TPS40170 operates always in FCCM mode, and doesn't skip pulses, or reduce the switching frequency?
