TPS65084: Output cap selection for VCC/VGG/VDDQ rails

Hi,

Customer is using TPS650842 and would like to know if they can replace the 220uF cap at BUCK1/2/6 output. Besides, is there any specific requirement (e.g. ESR) for output caps of these rails?

Hi Antony, we recommend using low ESR for these output capacitors. With certain loads and transient, the ESR and capacitance determine the ripple voltage of the output voltage. In our design guide (SLVUAJ8) we recommend using X7R or X5R rating.
