TPS40305: TPS40305DRCR Boot capacitor

Hi,
I would like to consult regarding assembly issue we had on TPS40305DRCR Boot capacitor (assembled between BOOT and SW pins).
Mistakenly the assembled capacitor value was 1uF (instead of 100nF – as recommended on your datasheet).
The DC2DC is functional, but I would like to know if there is any concern here?

hi Erez,

the only risk using "big" bootstrap capacitor is that at the start-up, a big current flows into the bootstrap diode, w/ the risk of blowing it up...
in this specific case you should be ok, because the voltage VBP is generated by the internal LDO instead of coming directly from the VIN...
the only visible effect should be an extension of the start-up time...
