BQ24773: L2243 change to 1.2uH from 2.2uH

Part Number: BQ24773

Hello,

Below is customer schematics. if L2243 change to 1.2uH from 2.2uH, has any effect or modify of schematics? In addition, if change to two cell battery design, where we need to modify on schematics? Thank you.

  • Looks like the schematic follows the EVM reference design.

Regarding on changing the inductor to 1.2uH, what is the RDSON of your low side FET?

To simplify the explaination, when LSFET turns on, the parasitic inductance of the LSFET is in series with the main inductor, which creates an resistor divider on the battery. The IC has a comparator for PWM/PFM transition by sensing the voltage across the LSFET. When reducing the inductor size, the voltage across the LSFET increases. This can affect the PWM/PFM transition.

Regarding on changing the cell configuration to 2s, the Cell pin needs to be floating.
