TPS22860: Question regarding the reverse current protection

Hello team,

a customer of mine is using the TPS22860 with a battery at the output (Vout pin) and with the input that can switch between different state.

So I kindly ask you to provide more details about the behavior of the device when in output is present a battery.

Is there a reverse current protection?

If not, how is the behavior when in output there is a battery and on the ON pin there is 0V or 3.3V?

Hi Massimiliano,

The TPS22860 does not have any reverse current protection integrated into the device. If the battery is present on the output and the ON pin is pulled low, then reverse current will be able to flow through the body diode of the pass FET. If the ON pin is pulled high, then reverse current will pass through the FET instead.

As far as Datasheet information is concerned, whatever Alek described looks precise with regard to reverse current flow in device when ON input is in ON & OFF state.
