TPS65192: 2 Phase operation of TPS65192

Part Number: TPS65192

Hi Team,

I have two question for the TPS65192.

On datasheet of TPS65192, it describes the 4 phase operation and 6 phase operation.

I am not sure the device will support 2 phase operation with GPM if signals sent to  IN1, IN4 and FLK1 but IN2,IN3,IN5,IN6,FLK2 and FLK3 are grounded.

Can I get the output signal like figure1.

The other question is whether the TPS65192 allowed the 4 phase operation with GPM and without overlap of each phase like figure2.

(signal sent to IN1,IN2,IN4,IN5,FLK1,FLK2,  Grounding with IN3,IN6 and FLK3.)

Figure1.

Figure2.

  • Hello Eric,

We are working on this and will give you feedback soon.

    Best Regards.

  • Hello Eric,

You cannot have the outputs exatctly as it is in Fig.1 because you need to have the inputs that you are not using at VLOGIC level. I would recommend to connect the unused inputs to VLOGIC and FLK2/3 to GND or more simply connect IN1/2/3 together, IN4/5/6 together and FLK2/3 to GND. This way you can have the outputs you need on OUT1/4 and you can leave the other ones floating.

For the sequencing shown in Fig.2, it is not possible for the same reason that you need the adjacent inputs to be high when the flicker is applied for the GPM to be enabled. So you will need to use a similar sequence to the one shown on the datasheet for the 4-phase operation with GPM.

For which application do you need this particular sequences?

    Regards,
