BQ78350-R1: Does a pack need to perform a learn cycle in order for capacity tracking to be accurate?

Part Number: BQ78350-R1

Hi,

We have a 5s BMS project which is using BQ7692000PWR+BQ78350DBTR-R1. Right now our customer has done a golden learning cycling, and generated golden .srec file, they have a question as below:

Regarding the production process, from going through all the TI documentation for this chipset, I am still under the impression that we will have to perform a learn cycle after attaching cells and programing individual pack data in order for capacity tracking to be accurate. Can your team confirm this?

Could you please help to confirm: after an assemble pack has been programmed with golden .srec file and done a proper calibration, will the customer still  need to perform a learn cycle in order for capacity tracking to be accurate?

Thank you very much!

Joy
