TPS74401: TPS74401 Vbias Datasheet conflict

Part Number: TPS74401

Referring to the data sheet for the TPS74401, section 6.3 Recommended Operating Conditions shows a maximum Vbias of 5.5V while the Electrical Characteristics section 6.5 shows a maximum Vbias of 5.25V.  Normally this might be irrelevant except that I'm trying to set Vbias at 5.36V.  I'm not picking up what the distinction is between these two limitations.

  • Hi Steve,

We apologize for the confusion. When originally qualified and tested, we had the maximum bias voltage set to 5.25V. We have now found this to be overly conservative and now consider the operating maximum Vbias 5.5V. Your application falls within our revised recommended operating conditions.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
