I am working on the controller chip UC3860 for a series resonant controller power supply. Is there ans application note available for this chip.

I'm afraid that this part is obsolete so there is not very much information available for it. Neither is there a direct replacement for this device.

If you go to www.ti.com/.../universalsearch.tsp you will get some relevant hits - I'd reccomend you look at Bob Mammano's paper at www.ti.com/.../getliterature.tsp may be of interest - it is one of the links that should pop up when you follow the first link above.

Other than that, the thing is that the series resonant topology has been superceded by the LLC topology. Similar performance but smaller frequency variation. TI makes the UCC25600 controller specifically for the LCL topology. It might be possible to use it to control a series resonant system but the max frequency span may limit its control authority in a series resonant circuit.
