Hi, I need to make a voltage regulator, 10 0 30VCD input with output to 5vcd 2 A this will be installed to the Outdoor, Could I recommend some protection against electric shock or excessive consumption of current and hazardous locations?

    Hello Jesus,

    I have referred your question to the appropriate team to help you.

    Until someone from that team responds, I suggest that you visit the TI website www.ti.com and look to the right side of the home page. There will be a WEBENCH Designer box where you can input your parameters, click on "Start Design", and it will generate a large number of possible designs for you to consider and choose from.
    I assume your parameters are input: 10Vdc to 30Vdc and output = 5Vdc at 2A maximum.

    Many of these designs will have a built-in or user-programmable current limit.
    Protection against excess electrical and hazardous external conditions is generally added separately to the basic conversion circuit.
    The kinds and levels of protection you need to add will depend on the hazard conditions that are specified for the final product.
