LM5033: 2.5V VREF data

Helo, Team,

My customer is exaining this part in their next power supply.

Now they request us to show the followmg data. Would you support them if you have anything related to them?

1. 2.5V VREF data vs VIN voltage range (15v to 90v). Though VREF spec has been specified only at VIN=48V, customer wants to see VREF data over recommended VIN range.

2. Actulal 2.5v_VREF destribution data(AVG, STD-DEV, MIN MAX) at some temparature points(-40c, 25c, 85c and 125c etc) in recommended temparature range.

Hi Someno-san,

Here is the response:

1. As of today, VREF vs VIN(15V to 90V) data that is requested does not exist. We can collect this data on a small sample size for you, but the small sample size may not be speaking for all tested good units that the customer may receive. Do you think this is applicable to customer? If so could you let us know how this information would be used before we could collect data.

2. The datasheet specifies VREF @ 5mA load @ 48V. The maximum temperature variation of this test across -40C to 125C based on characterization data at RTM is ~66mV. The actual temperature distributions of this parameter are not available now. Sorry!

However, customer strongry requests them. I think that there should be the data which your product group evaluated about some lots when this part was released.

Can you check them for the VREF data requested by customer?

Hi Someno-san,

In fact, I have checked with product line internally before I replied your post, and got the response as you saw in my last post. Unfortunately we are not able to provide the disturbution data for this parameter, but would you let me know how this information would be used and why MIN/TYP/MAX values is not enough for customer?

I understand your situation.

They wanted to check these actual destribution data(Specially, data of VREF vs VIN) to eastimate the margin at design review.

I will negociate with customer with your comments, again.

How many number is "a small sample size" to collect VREF vs VIN data in your prebious mail?
