TPS54202: Brownout

Part Number: TPS54202
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54260, TPS54240

Hi,

Is the brownout occurred at low dropout and light load on the TPS54202.

Brownout → www.ti.com/.../slva547a.pdf

On other words, is the Boot cap charged by turning on the Lo-side FET when detected BOOT UVLO?

Best Regards,

Kuramochi

  • TPS54202 is a synchronous converter. It should not drop out in the manner of the TPS54240 and TPS54260 family. You are correct that it can work at duty cycles > 100%. The high side FET can stay on until the BOOT voltage (relative to SW) fally below 2.1 V. The high side will turn off and the low side turn on briefly to re-charge the BOOT capacitor.
