We got a question from customer about TPS25940-Q1.
Could you help us?

According to datasheet, recommended OUT pin capacitance is minimum 0.1uF. Why does this capacitor be needed?
Our customer is considering that they don't use external capacitor on OUT pin.

Hi Tateo,

The device measures Vin, Vout for reverse current blocking functionality (please refer functional block diagram in the datasheet). To have noise free measurement, it is recommended to have minimum 0.1uF capacitance at OUT pin. The capacitance also helps to absorb fast changing voltage transients at the output which could occur during device cut-off for any fault event.
