Gentlemen:

Does TI have an updated cell chemistry file for the new K2 LFP26650-3700 (3.7Ah) cell?

Is there a way to reprogram packs made with the LFP26650 (3.2Ah) cell - Chem ID 0402, by putting the new cells into the pack and repeating several charge/discharge cycles?

Hi George,

Please do the charge/discharge cycle with relaxation then submit the log file to our online GPC tool to find the best matched chem ID for your cells.

Simple Guide to Chemical ID Selection Tool (GPC)

If you want to reuse the gauge with the new cell do the following:

export the gg.csv file
replace cells with new cells
reprogram bq40z50-R1 default firmware (maybe best to update to the latest FW revision)
run charge/discharge cycle with relaxation
submit the log file to our online GPC tool to find the best matched chem ID
Import the new chem ID that was identified by our online GPC Tool using bqStudio Chemistry database
import previously exported gg.csv
run learning cycle

I'm working with the K2 LFP26650E-3700 cell as well. Did you ever get a Chem ID for this cell?

Hi Kevin,

No, I don't have any new Chem ID for the 3700mAh K2 cells. I have been using the suggestion of starting out with the 3200mAh cell ID (0402) and exercising the packs a few times to get a more accurate chemistry, per TI's recommendation.

According to K2, the cells are pretty much the same as the 3200 cells, just with a little more capacity.
