TPS40210: Operation when the RC pin shorted to GND

Guru 20090 points
Part Number: TPS40210

Hello,

Could you please let me know the operation when the RC pin shorted to GND?
Is the device operate maximum switching frequency 1MHz?

Best Regards,
Ryuji

  • Hi,

I'm looking forward to the reply.

I simulated the TPS40210 with 10uohm Rrc on the webench.
As a result, the switching frequency is 354GHz.
I think that this is not actual operating point.

  • Hi Ryuji,

RT is not supposed to be shorted, or the frequency can be very high.  It is a failure condition and the Webench model is intended for normal operation, therefore it cannot simulate such a failure condition.  On the other hand, the device was never characterized or tested in such condition. One thing is sure that the frequency can be much higher than 1MHz if you short the RC pin go GND.

    Thanks,

    Youhao
