Hi, I am designing for an application where the solar panel voltage will be significantly higher than the battery voltage and therefore should rarely be in a state of buck/boost interleavered (when the SM72442 decides to enter pass through mode). I would like to omit the Panel Mode components to save cost as the added benefits are not too applicable to my design.
The datasheet and associated documents do not address a design omitting Panel Mode components. It seems that possibly ADC channel 6 can be pulled to 5volts, but it is unclear. That would set the MPPT start and exit threshold to 0mA. Which I would assume means it never enters Panel Mode?
Or possibly some other un-documented connection like pull pin28(PM) high to 5v. Or maybe it doesnt even matter, SM72442 will recognize Panel Mode mosfets are not present when it tries to enter and current is 0? But that seems like it would waste time entering in and out.
