BQ28Z610: What turns off discharge FET?

Part Number: BQ28Z610

From the datasheet I have determined that the protections (OC, CUV, temperature) all turn off the discharge FET when they trip.  Are there any other cases where the discharge FET gets turned off?

Is the CUV protection threshold the "normal" way to disconnect the battery from the load when the battery dies?

Thanks

  • The CUV is a safety protection threshold..it should be used as the mechanism for disconnecting your load from the battery when the guage reports 0%. When that happens, your application should shut down.

The discharge fet also turns off when you have a short circuit condition and when the device goes into sleep

    thanks
