TPS650941EVM-116: TPS650941 application in intel Apollo lake platform

Part Number: TPS650941EVM-116
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2767

my customer will use TPS659041 to Appollo lake Platform, following diagram is power sequence need of intel Apollo lake, the VNN_SVID and V1.8_SB/V1.24_SB need power up before power button, whether PMIC(TPS65904x) can work at V5SB ? does VNN_SVID,V1.8_SB and V1.24_SB is from V5SB?

  • Hello Longchang Chen,

The TPS650941 needs at least 5.6 V to operate. If you are using 5 volts we recommend using a LM2767 to step up to 10 Volts for VSYS of the TPS650941. The rails VNN_SVID, V1.8_SB, and V1.24_SB, which corresponds to BUCK1, BUCK4, and BUCK5, can each be run off 5V.

VNN_SVID, V1.8_SB, and V1.24_SB turns on when the PMICEN pin is set high. So as long as PMICEN is set high before power button then you should be fine. Where is the power button going to be in the sequence?

    Thank You

    Albert
