BQ24075-Q1: Is input based Dynamic Power Management also available for high current wall adapter setup?

Part Number: BQ24075-Q1

Hi,

I am currently evaluating the BQ24075-Q1 and its datasheet states:
"When EN1 and EN2 are configured for USB100 (EN2=0, EN1=0) or USB500 (EN2=0, EN2=1) modes, the input voltage is monitored."

Question:
Is the input voltage also monitored if EN1 and EN2 are configured for higher currents? I want to be able to draw up to 1A if connected to a wall adapter, but be sure the USB host is protected if connecting to a USB100 or USB500 port.

Thanks,

Patrick

  • hi Patrick,

    no it is not...
the input voltage is monitor only when the input is stated as USB type (so when EN2 = 0) to prevent the USB bus voltage to collaps...
you can also see that in the block diagram on page 9 (look at the comparator on the top-left corner): it is enabled when EN2 = 0
