BQ34Z100-G1: Battery Level Issue

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

I first  reported this issue in the below e2e.

We have been using this part in our systems for some time. We program them using the EV2300 and battery studio at build up. We have noticed occasionally the fuel gauge % gets stuck usually after months of working correctly. The current, voltage and temperature are reading out correctly. I was able to grab the register values for a stuck part 1.CSV and I compared it to the golden file, 2.csv. It appears the R table is changing but every thing else looks correct.

We happen to have logged the battery level at the the time of one of the glitches. For several hours the battery level is slowly dropping 87..86..85, then somewhere in a 2 hour gap it suddenly drops to 16. It stays there even after fully recharging the battery. We are getting close to production and this issue has got alot of people spooked.

Help would be greatly appreciated,

John

  • I compared the two gg files and nothing really stands out as being a problem.

    Here are the only peculiarities.

    1.gg.csv
    • The pack has discharged 11 cycles without a Qmax update.

    2.gg.csv
    • Lifetime Min Pack Voltage = 0.
