Hi,
I understand that external USB switch is necessary to use with host. But then I'd like to know the case that it isn't necessary because it's stated "Optional" in typical application.

Sonoki-san,
The bq25890 D+/D- are only active for the first 2 seconds following VBUS power up or after the host writes a 1 to the Force D+/D- detection bit. When not used, the pins are high impedance. We have customers who do not use the USB switch.
