Hello!

Sorry for my probably stupid question.

I have a very rare laptop battery, and I want to replace the batteries in it. The power controller is built on chips bq29310+bq80201. Can I unlock this controller having only EV2300 and your software to it? The question is very important, because I live in Russia, and EV2300 costs as a half of my salary.

This is a very old device and it would have probably been compatible with the EV2200, which is no longer in production. The device memory is probably sealed, so you will not be able to access it. I doubt that you will be able to refurbish that pack.

I read somewhere that TI softvare knows master key with which you can access all of the BQ chips. Is it nit true? Sorry for my english)

The gauge does not have a master key that can override the customer programmed unseal key.

Is there any way to know the master key? I have seen the programs that can reset the controllers like BE2work or UBRT, but they are too expensive for home use. if I can't do anything with this controller, I will try to replace it from another dead battery, but if it is sealed, without knowing the master key I can't do anything. I think I need to buy EV2300, and then I will see what I will can do, but I think in any case I will have to find a way to find master key.
