UCC27211A: Output current

Part Number: UCC27211A

Hi

I have some question for this device.

- How dose this device limit the output current?

- Can this device output over 4A if it is short time?

( Does this device clamp the output current if the output current exceed 4A?)

  • Hamamoto-san,

Thank you for your interest in the UCC27211A gate driver.  The output current is governed by the output stage rDSON -- there is no active current limiting circuit. The typical peak (i.e.,max) output current is 4A. Since, as mentioned above, there is no limiting or clamping circuit, the current could be a little higher or lower than 4A based on part to part variations, but I do not recommend designing under the assumption of more than 4A max/peak current.

    Regards,
