LM5008: Power supply design for 2.4GHz wireless MCU. LM5008 vs LMR16006X

Part Number: LM5008
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CC2541,

Hi,

We are designing a 48V to 3.3V DCDC buck converter to power our on-board wireless MCU (CC2541). Thanks to TI for providing WEBENCH Designer - tool is saving us lot of time on IC selection and circuit design.

Currently, we are unable to decide between LM5008 and LMR16006X.

LM5008 comes with low switching Frequency 213kHz and Vout p-p 0.44mV. But Load Transient Vp-p is 40mV

LMR16006X comes with medium switching frequency 700kHz and Vout p-p 1.01mV. However, Load Transient Vp-p is only 8mV.

1) In WEBENCH, while the VISUALIZER page displaying the Solutions in table mentions Vout p-p as 0.44mV only for LM5008, the ELECTRICAL SIMULATIONS page graphs show 40mV peak-peak under Steady State and Load Transient. So, what is the 0.44mV Vout p-p mentioned in VISUALIZER page table? Not sure if we are reading the graphs correct.

2) Could someone from TI or prior power supply design experience suggest us which of the two i.e. LM5008 or LMR16006X suits better for 2.4GHz wireless MCUs (CC2541)?
