BQ7718: Self Control Protector

This reference design calls out a "Self Control Protector" which from what I can tell is a fuse with the ability to be blown "remotely" in addition to the traditional overcurrent method.  Is there another name for this family of components or is Dexerails the only company that makes a component like this?

    Hi,

    The SCP is a general term used by Dexerials to describe a fuse that needs only a single input to activate. It seems to be a general word to describe this type of fuse, so i don't see why you shouldn't be able to find another vendor that builds something similar. Although i can't speak too much as this is not our part. The bq7718 can work with any fuse like the one in the design.
