UCD9222: Error log issue "No parameter selected to import" at Fusion Digtal Power Designer Project

Part Number: UCD9222
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCD7242

Hi,

My customer has a issue.
This issue occurs at one thirtieth of all UCD9222.(1/30 units)

The issue is a NG device isn't out voltage set by user.
For the reason, customer re-wrote data to UCD9222 with Fusion Digtal Power Designer Project.
Then, Fusion Digtal Power Designer Project reported "No parameter selected to import" as ERROR log
Please see below.
And I has posted GUI picture below at connecting NG device.
Could you let me know the reason reported "No parameter selected to import", please?

Best regards,
Shimizu

  • Hi team,

How is the progress about this question?

    Best regards,

    Shimizu

  • Hi Shimizu,

The GUI says " "No parameter selected to import", because in the previous page, user can select which parameters to import. The GUI compares the parameters in the device, and those in the project file. GUI will automatically uncheck identical parameters, but user can still click "select all" to force import all parameters.

When all device parameters and project file parameters are identical, the GUI will uncheck all parameters, and thus there is no parameter to import.

  • Hi Zhiyuan ,

    Thank you for your support.
I could understand about "No parameter selected to import".

About "Fault status" at second picture of previous my post, What does this mean?

    Best regards,
    Shimizu
  • Hi Shimizu,

The status bits are defined in PMBus specification Part II Rev 1.2.
    www.pmbus.org/.../OlderSpecifications

The CML fault in the picture is communication fault. If the device receives corrupted data, it will set this bit. POWER_GOOD# means Vout is below POWER_GOOD_ON threshold.

    Regards,
    Zhiyuan
  • Hi Zhiyuan,

    I'm sorry for addition questions.

About the CML fault, I think this means the communication fault between the control(UCD9222) and the driver(UCD7242).

    Is it correct?

    Best regards,

    Shimizu

  • Hi Shimizu,

CML fault is associated with PMBus communication. It is the communication between UCD and the PMBus host. The host may be on your board, or it may be the USB-to-GPIO adapter if you use Fusion GUI on PC to communicate with the device. But there can be only one host at a time. If you connect the USB-to-GPIO adapter to the board, you will need to disconnect the on-board host, if any. Otherwise, communication will be corrupted and you may see the CML fault.

    Regards,

    Zhiyuan
