LMG3410: LMG3410 rated current question

Part Number: LMG3410

Hi team,

My customer has a question for the GaNpart LMG3410.

I saw there's no desription in the preview datasheet about the 12A. Not sure about does it mean 12A DC current or peak? Or is there even SOA for GaN, just like MOSFET?

My customers' question is that can LMG3410 be applied to 3.5KW application. (85VAC-265VAC input - 400V output /9A)?

It'll be appriciated if you can help with my questions and provide me with more information of the rated current. Thanks!

Regards,

Patrick

  • Hi, Patrick,

The current capability is limited by the heat sink capability of your customer's board.

For example, we have over-current protection on the LMG3410, and it is set at 24A min, 36A typ, and 50A max. You can see this in the d/s: www.ti.com/.../specifications

So, with proper heat sinking, the LMG3410 can deliver 12A continuously.

Yes, their is an SOA for the LMG3410, but we currently don't publish that plot. We will consider adding this to the d/s prior to RTM.

Let us know if you have any further questions!
