TPS40210-Q1: Boost current affected by PWM of Linear LED Driver

Part Number: TPS40210-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92638-Q1, TPS40210

Hi Team,

In my system, I am boosting my input voltage (6V -16V) to 28V output, load current of 500mA for LED lighting. To control the current in my various strings, I am feeding this voltage into a linear LED driver (i.e. TPS92638-Q1).

If I am using the PWM function of the TPS92638-Q1, the current draw of the TPS92638-Q1 will be PWM'd. For example, if my normal current draw is 500mA, but then I only want 100mA, the 500mA will be drawn 20% of the time and then 0A will be drawn 80% of the time.

I am afraid this alternating current draw could affect the boost converter. What sort of risk am I at by implementing this in my system? Is it possible that my boost could start oscillating?

Looking forward to the feedback.
