Hi Team:

In TPS793's datasheet show below:

The minimum Vin is Vo+1V. My customer application is 3.3V input and output 2.7V.

If the minimun Vin is Vo+1V, this part would not be suitable for this application.

Could you help me to check whether my understand is right?

Hi Derek,

Could you please confirm the full part number that you are using and the lit number of the datasheet that you are referring to?

Please note that while the typical test condition for the catalog TPS793 family is 2.7V or Vin = Vout + 1V whichever is greater, the minimum Vin for this catalog family is 2.7V or Vout + Vdo whichever is greater.

Hi Ryan:

My customer's end customer is Japanese guys. They need confirmation.

When output 2.7V, what's minimum voltage need to input? And how to calculate it? The full part number is TPS79301-Q1

The real application will have 3V input.

Hi Derek,

The datasheet for TPS793-Q1 has had several revisions since the datasheet you provided. Please be sure to always refer to the latest datasheet available at TI.com. The screenshots that you provided in your previous post were errors that were corrected years ago in the datasheet.

The minimum Vin for TPS793-Q1 is 2.7V or Vout + Vdo. The max dropout is 200mV; therefore, a 3.3V input has ample headroom for a 2.7V output.

Hi Derek,

Correct, the minimum input voltage for a regulated output is Vout plus max dropout. 2.7V + 0.2V = 2.9V. As long as you have greater than 2.9V you should achieve a regulated output.
