LM5050-1: LM5050-1 Leakage

Part Number: LM5050-1

I am looking at using the LM5050-1 to OR a 12V rail with an 11V rail. The FET will be on the 12V rail, and a diode on the 11V (very low current).

When the 12V rail is removed and floating, we’re concerned about current from the 11V rail flowing into Vs and OUT. The datasheet says that this will be ~3.5mA combined which is much larger than my spec– I'm looking at implementing Figure 29 from the datasheet to isolate the IC from ground and remove the current path. Do we need an additional signal for this FET to control it, or can we tie the gate to the 12V rail, with a pull down resistor to turn it off when 12V is removed? I’m just concerned about the turn on/off timing if I bypass using an EN signal.

Also – are there any ICs like LM5050-1 that already has this feature integrated so I get only uA’s of Iq without requiring an additional FET. All the other ORing controllers I saw were significantly larger.

Thanks,

Michael
