Part Number: TPS43060

Can TI to look over our regulator design? We are having issues with the TPS43060 not regulating the output, drawing too much current and overheating. We’d appreciate any comments ASAP as this is holding up one of our designs. Layout follows very similar to the TI recommendation

The IC is getting too hot. In the order of 100 degrees Celsius in a few seconds. We have never not got them to start. On the first set of boards the IC cooked itself. We are currently running the regulators with no load. My understanding is that this should be not cause a problem. The input voltage is 12V and the regulator will take all the current it is given – enough to destroy the IC.

No waveforms yet – bit hard to get in a few seconds. We are currently implementing a snubber circuit as recommended in the datasheet and have implemented the 4.7R’s on the gate driver lines.
