BQ51013B: reference design of BQ51013B and difference between BQ51013A and BQ51013B

Part Number: BQ51013B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51013A

Hello

Customer would like to change the wireless charging solution from BQ51013A to BQ51013B.

The main difference is about the FOD function and could you  provide the reference design of BQ51013B and point out the difference b/t BQ51013A and BQ51013B to customer?

Also, since the FOD function is still under discussion, could you also provide reference design that FOD function is optional on schematic so customer can add it back when the FOD function is confirmed? Thank you.

BR

Patrick

  • The key difference will be addition of FOD requirement for 013B. It will identify itself as a WPC 1.1 to TX and enable the FOD function.
On 013A only one resistor goes from ILIM to ground. For 13B this resistor is split between R1 and RFOD, also ROS is added. See figure 38 in 013B data sheet for the connection of resistors.
Also FOD calibration will have to be run on the customer unit.
Fod cal procedure can be found in the bq51013B product page.
