UCC29002: Hot Swap Application

Part Number: UCC29002

I have two (2) questions involving the UCC29002-1 in a hot-swap application.  Each power module is capable of providing full load, which is 3.3V @ 40A.  If both power modules are present, each power module with the assistance of the UCC29002 will load share 50% or 3.3V @ 20A, respectively.  If a power module fails or is removed, the other power module will transition to provide 3.3V @ 40A.  When the second power module is reinserted (i.e. hot-swap), both power modules will load share at 50%.

Question 1) Does the LS pin require any active or passive circuitry for hot-swap applications.

Question 2) Do I need the ORing circuitry if I am using the UCC29002?

The DC-DC converter is a synchronous rectifier topology.  I have attached a block diagram for your reference.  Thank you .TI Block Diagram.pdf
