LP2951: guess the right part number

Part Number: LP2951

Hello,

I have to substitute the component in the picture.

I assume it is LP2951, it is a dc-dc LDO regulator with 100mA output.

The LP2951 is made in various versions : 3,3V, 5V, tunable.

The marking "CMC" does not match with the marking table from TI, how can I identify the right part number??

Best Regards,

Fulvio

  • Hello Fulvio,

This is LP2951-N, the 5.0V version. Only the LP2951 3.3V and 3.0V versions have a marking for the voltage option.

The import of the National Semiconductor part marking information into the TI system created a few anomalies due to incompatible package marking database capabilities.

The National Semiconductor used the symbol '>D' to automatically insert the die revision letter into the physical marking at the factory, and the present LP2951-N die revision is 'C'.

The TI marking database treats the '>D' as simple literal text, and shows the '>D' in the marking look-up details.

The 'LP2951/CM>D' (in the marking database) vs 'LP2951/CMC' (on the package) is a known problem and a team has been assigned to get this resolved.

    The 'CMC' marking is correct.
