TPS54719: Need your suggestion for optimising the solution

Part Number: TPS54719

Hi,

Need your suggestion for optimising the solution

TPS54719
Input : 3v to 5v
Output 0.85v @ 4Amps
Inductor : 1uH
Output Cap : 0.1uF + 1uF + 47uF + 100uF + 100uF + 100uF (All Ceramic )
Input : 100uF Ceramic

1.       Pls suggest recommended Switching Freq.  Is below freq good for being able to operate the device at min/max Input Voltage and output load?
a.       RT=100k gives 400KHz Switching Freq

2.       How to choose freq compensation components for good transient response?

Bet Regards,

Kpk

  • You could use the Webench design tool to calculate your design.  It is available in the tools and software folder on the product page:

You could just use the design it provides (it recommended 1.1 MHz switching frequency).  If you want to modify it to match your output filter, you can edit the values and use the "re-comp" tool to adjust your compensation.  Alternately, you can use the datasheet equations to design your circuit.  For compensation, you would need to model it using the pspice average model, which is also available at the above link.
