BQ2002: USB single cell NiMh (2/3 AAA, 420mAh)

Part Number: BQ2002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2000

Hi,

I need a solution for charging NiMh single cell over USB. The cell is 2/3 AAA without termal resistor.

-What is th best solution to make a simple charger?

-Is there a application note?

Best Regard,

Markus

  • Depending on your charge current requirement, if your charge current is lower than 1A then you can use bq2002 since it uses linear topology.

If charge current requirement is higher than 1A, then we recommend to have a look at bq2000 which is a switch mode charger.

You can refer to the EVM schematic in the user guide for reference. The cell configuration setting is described in the datasheet and user guide.
