TPS73801: TPS73801 LDO

Part Number: TPS73801

Hallo

i am planning to useTPS73801(LDO)  in my design but i need to know the switching time of output by using enable pin function to high and then to low.

Or

To more clear my question, i need to know how much time does the output voltage takes when i enable the IC to high and then inversely how much time it takes to pull down the output voltage by applying enable low.

My design includes the following values

This below details for the adjustable version

Vin = 7V
Vout = 6V
Input and output capacitors = 10 micro farad
R2 = 1K
R1 = 5K

  • Hi Raza,

    In order to take these measurements I will need to order some devices. Please allow for a week for shipping and taking the measurements. As stated on the other thread you started this morning, please note that these measurements will depend on your load current as well as the current limit of your supply. Please provide this information so that the measurements can be more meaningful to your application.

    Please note that these measurements will be taken on the EVM noted in the TPS73801 product folder.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • load current will be 640 mA and 180 mA with same above parameters for the regulators in both cases.

    And the external power supply to turn on the regulators is up to 6A.
  • Hi Raza,

    I was able to take the measurements today.  Please note that your output voltage and resistor divider did not match.  I chose to make R2 a 15.4k resistor in order to have the 6V output.

    640mA:

    180mA:

    Please note that the input supply oscillations are caused by the load transient on the supply (no load to Iout + Inrush current to charge the output capacitor)

    Very Respectfully,

    Ryan

  • Thanks for your support.
