BQ76PL455A: bq76PL455A / Wakeup main device without WAKEUP pin

Hi,

I'd like to know how to wakeup main device by software control, that means that wakeup it without WAKEUP pin. I checked datasheet and found attached description but WAKE tone is used to additional device. Then do you have the method to wakeup main device without WAKEUP pin?

Hi Satoshi,

The wake tone is generated by another bq76PL455A-Q1. This could be another bq76PL455A-Q1 acting as a communications bridge to the stacked bq76PL455A-Q1's attached to cells, or from another bq76PL455A-Q1 mid stack when the DEV_CTRL[STACK_WAKE] bit is set on a lower stacked bq76PL455A-Q1.

Thank you for your comment. Let me clarify again that there is the method other than "WAKEUP pin is high". From your reply, I understood that the wake tone is not used to wake main 455 from host. Is my understanding correct?

Hi Satoshi-san,

The base device is not awakened using the wake tone, only stacked devices. So yes, your understanding is correct.
