BQ34Z100-G1: Bq34z100-G1 No Ack from device, ev2300 V3.1C

I have a custom bq34z100-g1 board & EV2300 is not able to read the ckt. I have attached a screenshot.

Earlier I was using EV2300 V3.1C & try to read on ckt. And software is bqstudio V1.3.52. I was getting error "No Ack from Device"

Then I had updated the EV2300 to V3.1m & then I tried to read again the IC, but again error.

Voltage on pins are:

1. REGIN/CE: 4V

2. REG25: 2.5V

What could be error.

1. Did I damaged the IC as mentioned in above link. From starting bq34 was not responding . I havent flash anything. Could it be the reason that on reading bq34 with EV2300 V1.3C can brick it? But if that would be case then voltages on REG25 will not be 2.5V?

2. Any other reason?

3. Also please tell how to update EV2300 to latest version.

Is it 3.1m or 3.1r.?

Hi,
You can change to EV2400 to see if it works.
The voltage is correct. You can use a multimeter to test if the voltage on SCL and SDA wire are high level.

1. I have 2 EV2300 right now. EV2400 I have to order.
2. Voltage at SCL/SDA pinsa re 1V around when EV2300 is connected. I think SCL/SDA pins have pull ups on EV2300 right or need to place pull ups on Bq34 also?

The EV2300 does not provide pull-up resistors on the I2C ports, but the EV2400 does. The EV2300 does provide pull-ups on the SMBus port. The bq34z100EVM has pull-ups installed, but you would have to add them to your custom board.

1. What pullup value is ok. I have given 4V to REGIN. 10K values ok?
2. Is EV2300 V3.1m ok to read bq34z100-g1?
If not please give the correct version.

An 8k to 10k resistance is a good value for pull-ups on the I2C signal and v3.1m or v3.1r have the I2C firmware improvements in the EV2300.
