BQ2000T: Aid for selecting inductor and const current array

Part Number: BQ2000T
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ2000

Hi there,

we want to use the BQ2000T for 1h fast charge for two NiMH cells in series (2.4V) C== 2300mAh

So we would look at a charging current of 2.7 A (C*1.2)

I have studied everything available for the BQ2000 and BQ2000T but feel like I need more information how the switching regulation works. It seems to me that it is not even close to PWM with current sense.

The power switching transistor seems to do some current limit, correct ?

Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about switching frequency and inductor selection  May be somebody can help on this.

Additional I decided for high side current sense. This is the schematics I came up with for 1A.

Thánks in advance for any help.

Ralph
